New Years Resolutions

I swear December was only a week long! So much happened to me in 2013 that it was just a whirlwind. I became a Scentsy consultant in February, broke up with my fiance of 8 years in April, lost 80 lbs between January and September, lost one of my 2 jobs in April, took on my most trying child for work yet in July, bought a brand new car in my name (no cosigner!!) in September, and moved into an apartment on my own in October. Phew! This year may seem like vacation after all that.
I finally gained answers in 2013 to two years worth of questions. But now I have new questions for 2014, questions about me.

1) Grow as a person. I'm 25 and haven't been single since my sophomore year of high school. I don't know who I am as an individual, I've always had someone attached to care for and put first, be it my sister, boyfriend, or roommates. What do i enjoy doing? Am i really that shy and quiet or have i always just stood behind someone loud and boisterous? What's the single life about? I know I can handle it, but is it for me? Where do you meet people? I don't fall for the whole online dating scene. So one of my biggest goals for this year is to grow out of my shy comfort zone, leave my apartment, and get out and meet people. Both guys and new friends, I learned who my real friends are when I left my ex. People bring relationships and experiences, and I'm thinking I might not hate people so much if I met the right ones. All my relationships that have lasted, friend wise, have been ones I've personally made, not the ones I made through others, and I think that makes a difference.

2) Grow my Scentsy business. I've heard it takes 2-3 years to get ahead in any business. I've definitely got my money back from Scentsy, but now I want a steady income, even if its a small amount. This will tie into my first resolution- leaving my shyness behind and meeting new people. I also need to put more effort and some money into it than I did last year. Takes money to make money, right? My first step with this is to attend spring sprint in February!

3) Lose another 30 lbs, tone and tighten. After the first 80 kind of fell off, I'm hoping this won't be to hard. And I have 12 months to do this. Piece of cake...or no cake :(

4) Find a better paying, but enjoyable, job. This resolution depends on how 2) goes. If Scentsy grows well and I can count on a decent income, I'll have no need for another job. I love the girls I care for and would hate to give them up for money, but the truth is, medicaid doesn't pay me enough to care for these kids. And that's sad.

5) Travel. I want to go to at least 1 place this year that I've never been. And I say that broadly, like a new town/city/state, not a facility. My ex was a homebody, so if one of our families wasn't there, we didn't go. Which meant we always went home where our parents are, my extended family was to far for him, we saw them once in 8 years. Before him, and at the beginning of dating him when I didn't think it was serious, I seriously considered joining the military, just to travel. But I couldn't leave once I was with him. Now I'm in no shape to join and not sure I want to with our current government. But regardless, I have a massive travel bug that can finely stop itching.

This year is a whole new lifestyle for me, I plan to take advantage of it! New doors to open, new questions I haven't found yet, and hopefully a better, wiser me. I get to make mistakes with no one to catch me and fall back on, learn new things, do new things, and just grow. I love ya Drake, but no new friends isn't gonna cut it this year ;)

Have you set goals this year? Do you think they're realistic? Will they grow you as a person or grow your family?

Scentsy Christmas Recipes

I've been MIA again :/ Sometimes life just bogs you down, you know? Still adjusting to life on my own, it's quite nice!! I've got some food recipes in the works so look out for those over the next few weeks. But today, some Scentsy recipes are on the agenda.

I finally got around to ordering my holiday scents. I know what you're thinking- yes I'm a consultant, but I don't keep stock on hand, just what I'm going to use. My favorite is Cozy Fireside and Clementine Clove (November Scent of the Month).  But I also found some new favorites when I mixed the scents. I like food smells, so of course Christmas cookies is my list topper.

To mix scents and make your own recipes, just put a cube of each scent in your warmer or 1/2 cube if using a plug in or you only want a hint of a certain scent. Let me know what your favorite scent combos are, you might just see them here our on my Facebook page.

Sincerely Scent- Christmas Cards

It's that time of year!! I love the holiday season. I'm holding off decorating for Christmas at least until the week of Thanksgiving and it's absolutely KILLING me! I know I'm not alone in this boat, heck Wal Mart put out Christmas stuff before Halloween.

So I got to thinking....what can I tell you about Scentsy that isn't the norm for their holiday sales flyers. Duh! Sincerely Scent. Never heard of it? Scentsy started Sincerely Scent a year or two ago, so it's still a baby in business years. You go on the site and order personalized cards, for any occasion, and the company ships them right to your recipient. All hands off for you! And the best part? You pick a scent, from the Scentsy Favorites collection, to be added in the form of a rubber stamp attached to the card. Add photos, personal messages, and a digital signature. You can even place orders up to a year before they need to be sent so you can forget about them. You'll be just as surprised by the thank you call as your loved one was by receiving the card :)

Cards are printed on 110-pound white card stock with a HP Indigo 7000 digital press. They are 4.96"x6.875" and mailed in white scent-barrier envelopes to ensure fragrance longevity. Cards can be printed in either English or Spanish. Please proofread before submitting cards, Scentsy is not responsible for spelling, punctuation, layout, or address errors.

Scentsy Fall/Winter 2013 Overview

Oh wow, guys! 3 weeks snuck by without me touching my computer and I have nothing to show for it. Always a day late and a dollar short, isn't that life for you?!

I wanted to do a several bigger posts for the new Scentsy Fall/Winter catalog but since we are already a month in, I'm gonna hit you with the highlights...or my favorites, anyway. Obviously, there's old warmers and scents returning, so you'll recognize those. If you missed my post about discontinued scents, click here.

scentsy, scents, heartbreaker, business casual, simply basil

Heartbreaker is new to the Romance line up. Its described as "rich woods, green juniper and a touch of tobacco". When I first read the description, I thought pipe tobacco. But when I smelled it, it smells like polo black (mens cologne), which is a familiar smell to me. Business casual is featured in the Scentsy Man section. It's "exotic cardamom, intriguing caraway, lively pepper, and fragrant woods with a powdery wisp of orange blossom". I LOVE the smell of cardamom, so this was a must get bar for me. Simply Basil is new to the Simply Scentsy line. It's just that, basil. It reminds me of my mom, my kitchen, and Italian food.

As this is the holiday season, these are going to be top sellers. Everyone wants their home to be comfy cozy with scents that evoke memories, and that's just what these do.

scentsy, warmers, fall winter 2013, wickless candles, lampshade, gallery, gallery frame, starry night, blue diamond, cream tulip
There are sooooo many new warmers, and everything is beautiful. These are my top picks. There are four different lampshade warmers, two colors in each shape I pictured above. They glow so bright! And add a touch of elegance that the other warmers don't seem to have. The Starry Night frame is one of three Van Goh frames that have been added, along with several other new styles, to the Gallery Collection.

What do you guys think? Do you like how the new line looks? Scentsy really stepped up the game with this catalog season...makes me curious as to what the spring line holds!

Scentsy- Trends for the Fall

Can I just tell you, at the rate this week is going, it might end better than Christmas!! Today, I came home to a Scentsy order, which is like Christmas in itself. I love opening those boxes even though its all going to someone else.Let me back track. Yesterday, I straightened out school which was good and bad. Bad because I can't afford to finish my bachelor's degree right now :( Good because after talking with an counselor and sending some emails, there's a good possibility that I stumbled upon an associates degree somewhere along my long list of classes. Waiting on email responses to override some higher level classes for lower levels and then I'm officially a degree holder!!! After that several hours of waiting in line then finally seeing a counselor I proceeded onto a leasing agency. I checked out a small apartment and filled out the paperwork. I received the call today that I am approved!!! Now I just need to sign a lease and I can move in next weekend. You have no idea how thrilled I am to finally have things turning around after months of thinking my guardian angel had been laid off.

success, what is success, success stories

OK. I'm stepping off my high horse now. I had to ride the wave for a glorious minute ;)
