Diet Friendly Meals and Snacks

It's about that time that new years resolutions stop attending the gym. You know who you are! I'm right there with you. I started some 30 day challenges in hopes of better commitment but I've missed days :/

I suck at exercise but can totally rock out some figure friendly foods! So I thought I'd give you guys a list of my favorite meals or snacks to keep you inspired and on the weight loss band wagon.

*I'm not a doctor, dietician or fitness trainer. Just someone who likes to eat healthy, so take your health in your own hands and see your expert for accurate opinions.

1- Refrigerator oatmeal (google or search pinterest, there's hundreds of variations).

2- Greek yogurt and fruit for breakfast, the protein will hold off hunger.

3-fruit instead of sweets-natural sugars people.

4-beans instead of or in addition to meats- black and kidney beans are easy substitutions that still give protein, I also love adding refried beans to Mexican dishes to stretch meats (I rarely buy or eat meat so I try to stretch it when I can).

5- tuna salad with crackers or veggie sticks (celery is my fav)- no bread = low carbs.

6-hummus. Try all the flavors before you rule it out. I like roasted red pepper hummus with veggie sticks, crackers, smeared on wraps, or baked on chicken.

7- fish- baked, broiled or grilled. Fish is super quick to cook so you can't say it takes to long! Add lemon juice to remove the fishyness.

8- zucchini boats. These are my new favorite dinners!! Stuff them with anything and they're amazing. And taste good for leftovers.

9- 3,2,1 mug cake. Mix a box cake mix with a box angel food cake mix (dry ingredients only). Put in airtight container. To eat- mix 3T dry mix and 2T water in a mug or coffee cup or small bowl, and heat for 1 minute in microwave. I don't know the stats on this but there's no oils, eggs, or frosting so it's at least healthier than a cup cake.

10- smoothies. Meal replacement, snack, dessert- just switch up the ingredients to meet your needs. My favorite combination for breakfast is spinach, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, bananas, and blueberries, milk, and oats.

I hope this helps you stay on track. I'd love to hear what foods you turn to when working on diets and weight loss!
