Blog Button with Grab Box

So after 2 hours of searching Google's soul, I finally discovered how to create a blog button with a grab box that works for the new Google+ version of blogger!!!

Here is my button. It's not anything fancy, but I made it all by myself...Well, me and the help of "Grab My Button"

Ok. So, let's start off with your image. I used PicMonkey but I know some bloggers use Photoshop. You can either use a blank jpeg (like I did) or use your own image.

Go onto PicMonkey and click Edit Your Photo.

Choose to upload the blank jpeg file or your image. On the left hand side you'll see different options to customize. Have at it and be creative!

Don't forget to resize your image after you're done customizing and adding text. It needs to be either 150 x 150 or 125 x 125. I used 150 x 150. And then save your image.

Now, go to Photobucket. It's free!!! You're going to upload your photo here, after you've signed in of course. Click on your image and a new page should appear. On the right hand side you will see options for different ways to link your image. Click the direct link, it will turn yellow and say copied.

Next, let's go over to "Grab My Button" . Fill out everything and press preview, it should show an image similar to this in a pop up box:

Get out of the preview and scroll down just a little further and you'll see the actual code in a big box. That's your image and grab box code. Copy it. I saved mine to a word document so I will forever have it and not need to do that over again.
You survived!! Sorry, that's a lot of information, but you're almost done.

So, now I'm sure you're wondering how to get that permanently embedded in your blog.

Well, you can insert it in a blog post as I have above by pasting that code you created into the body of the blog post.  First you must click on the Edit HTML tab and then paste the code into the body of the post. Then switch back over to the Compose tab. It should show up like my sample above.

Or you can add this button to your sidebar in Blogger. Go to your Dashboard, click Design and Add Gadget. Click on Add HTML and in the box that opens, paste the entire code you created. Click SAVE and then you can preview it on your blog and move it to the perfect location on your sidebar.

If someone wants to grab your button, all they need to do is copy the code in the box and paste in an HTML gadget and they're all set.

I hope that clears up the confusion. Most tutorials I found haven't encountered the new Google+ issue yet where nothing shows up in the grab box so hopefully I fixed this problem for you. Good luck!!

Awesome, right?
